Congratulations to the 2016-2017 Dancer’s Edge Company

Thank you to all who joined our auditions for the Dancer’s Edge Company this weekend! We would like to congratulate the dancers who have been selected to join us for this season.

Pick up audition packets at Southern Dance Theatre: Friday, August 26th – September 8th

The application packet must be fully completed and signed and brought to the audition.  Dancers take classes at Southern Dance Theatre in Boynton Beach, Florida and the ballet class level corresponds with the company the dancer is eligible to audition for.  Please contact 561-736-9097 for more information.

Auditions will be held at 1203 Knuth Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33436.

6:45-7:20pm Measurements & Sign in

7:30-9:30p.m. Audition: Ballet, Jazz, and Tap

  • Mini Company Ballet levels: Light Blue and Raspberry
  • Junior Company Ballet level:  Royal Blue

Sunday, September 11, 2016:

12:30-1:30pm Measurements & Sign in

1:45-3:45p.m. Audition: Ballet, Jazz, and Modern

  • Elite Company Ballet levels: Periwinkle & Hunter 1st & 2nd year
  • Apprentice Company Ballet levels: 2nd year Periwinkle & Hunter through Purple
  • Senior Company Ballet levels: High school – Purple / Black 8th graders – if in full Black level

Audition Attire

  • Females: Black leotard, pink tights, ballet technique, and jazz shoes (no socks). Hair in a bun with net and pins. Light make up.
  • Males: Fitted white t-shirt-tucked in, black tights, ballet and jazz shoes (no socks). Hair well groomed

The Dancer’s Edge Company is an elite group of dancers that perform a diverse showcase of dance throughout Palm Beach County and at Universal Studios.

Buddy Walk Funding Provided Free Art Classes This Summer

We have heard from the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization that they have used the funding raised by The Dancer’s Alchemy during the 2015 Buddy Walk to provide free art classes for local adults this summer. The class has been so popular that they will continue to offer it during the fall and beyond! The participants have really enjoyed the class.

Thank you to all of the Southern Dance Theatre and Dancer’s Edge Company families and students who participated to make this event and the class for these students such a success.

You may see some familiar faces in the photos below, some of the members of the Special Arts Ensemble enjoyed their time painting this summer.

Dancer’s Edge Co. perform at Delray Marketplace

Join the Dancer’s Edge Company for a delightful afternoon where they perform a Winter Showcase! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the performance. This is a free event!

Tickets on Sale Now for Dancer’s Edge Company’s Annual “Art of Sweets” Event

Dancer's Edge Company Art of SweetsJoin The Dancer’s Edge Company for their annual event, The Art of Sweets, Sunday, March 13, 2016. This event is a fundraiser to help support The Dancer’s Edge Company.  

As part of The Dancer’s Alchemy, the Company performs throughout the community to raise awareness of the arts and benefits that dance has to offer. Company members also take part in many community service initiatives in addition to benefit events such as The Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization’s Annual Buddy Walk and A Love Affair each year. 

Tickets: $12 for all attending, available beginning the first week of February from any Dancer’s Edge Company Member or at the Front Desk of Southern Dance Theatre.

There will be a wide variety of delicious desserts and a fabulous dance performance by The Dancer’s Edge Company.

This performance will be held at St. Vincent Ferrer Family Life Center.  Map and driving direction are below.

Dancer’s Edge Co. perform for Harlem Globetrotters event at FAU Arena, Boca Raton Florida Monday, February 29th at 7pm.

Discounted tickets will be available at Southern Dance Theatre beginning February 1st – February 24th for:

  • $27.50 GA Upper Level
  • $41.50 Corners
  • $54.50 Lower Sides/ End

In addition to seeing the event, basketball fans who would like the opportunity to shoot baskets with the Globetrotters and learn tricks can purchase a Magic Pass for $17.00 and be on the court Pre-Game from 5:30-6pm.

Harid Conservatory Soloist Anna Gonzalez to Perform at A Love Affair

Anna Gonzalez Black SwanFormer Dancer’s Edge Company Member and current Harid Conservatory Soloist, Anna Gonzalez, will perform a ballet variation at A Love Affair: An Evening of Dance to Honor Joan Miller. Anna was presented with the Fred Lieberman Award for Excellence for 2015.

Anna trained with Miss Joan directly to help perfect her artistry. Tickets to this event are on sale now online or by calling 561-901-4743. Order your open balcony or assigned orchestra seating now to see Anna and many other talented dancers perform.

Former Dancer’s Edge Company Member, Treyden Chiaravalloti, Featured in The Tampa Tribune!

‘The Nutcracker’ features local rising dance stars

Two South Tampa ballet Next Generation Ballet students will portray the Snow Queen and the Snow King in a production of “The Nutcracker” Saturday and Sunday featuring Sterling Hyltin and Adrian Danchig-Waring of the New York City Ballet. Tessa Hartmann, 15, and Treyden Chiaravalloti, 17, are students at the Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
